Minutes of the City of Crescent Regular Council Meeting
Monday, April 14th, 2025.
Meeting called to order at 7:00p.m. by Mayor Chuck Hildreth. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Flott, Powers, Hargens, Schmidt and Brand. Fire Chief Peterson absent. Clerk absent.
CONSENT AGENDA / Motion by Flott to approve consent agenda, seconded by Hargens; Schmidt, Brand, Powers; all ayes. Motion carried.
GUEST / Jerry and Cindy Mathiesen presented painting by Cindy to City for display at Community Hall.
FYI / Property Tax info on outlots at GHI.
FYI / Crescent Clean Up Day on Saturday, May 17th at 9am. Park Board will join in to clean the parks. A dumpster will be available for acceptable items.
FYI / Sheriff’s Office Partnership Opportunity. They would like City to purchase camera’s to mount at locations around City. Mayor will call to see where County is placing 10 cameras through the county.

REVISION / Park Rental and Waiver of Liability. Updated to cover all events and use of park.
REVISION / Driveway/Lane/Curb Cut Permit. Changed permit to include updated ordinance requirements and curb cutting.
ADDITION / Right-of-Way Permit. New permit being implimented for any work to be done in ROWs whether residential or commercial.
UPDATE / Scanning/Shredding. Scanning is complete and thumbdrive was received. Papers were shredded.
REMINDER / April 21st Special Meeting: Budget Approval Hearing, 6:00p.
MAYOR’S REPORT / Spoke to Engineers for updates and those have been received. Mayor has looked into bonding information for waste water treatment facility. Need to purchase a trailer for the mower asap.
MAINTENANCE / Report submitted. Getting ball diamonds ready. Dumpster delivers. Made repairs to salt shed after windstorm. Pickleball courts will be completed this week. Discussion on take down of current old concession stand and replacing with new. Sand volleyball courts will be reduced to one net as it’s rarely used.
PEOPLESERVICE / Report submitted.
PARK BOARD / Hargens asked when park board meetings are held. Mayor has ordered new ramp. Locks need to be replaced.
CVFD / 114 calls so far this year.
PUBLIC FORUM / Audience member asked about parking in yards. Boats, campers, cars, etc. They need to be parked on a hard surface. Question regarding the safety of the pump station. There may be a bypass. That is being looked into. Asphalt repair on corner by Casey’s which is County. Audience member will contact Secondary Roads.
