Monday, October 13th, 2025. Meeting called to order at 7:00p.m. by Mayor Chuck Hildreth.
COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT: Hargens, Powers and Schmidt. Brand, Flott absent. Fire Chief Peterson present.
CONSENT AGENDA | Motion by Powers to approve, seconded by Hargens; Schmidt; all ayes. Motion carried.
APPROVAL | Dollar General Liquor License. Motion by Powers to approve, seconded by Schmidt; Hargens; all ayes. Motion carried.
PRESENTATION | Deputy Doty on Flock Cameras moved to November meeting.

RESOLUTION 135-2025 | Approval for CVFD to Purchase Gear. Motion by Hargens to approve, seconded by Powers; Schmidt; all ayes. Motion carried.
DISCUSSION | Strietbecks vs City of Crescent. Judge issued a fine of $100.
DISCUSSION | Barb Miller at 720 OLH (Sassholes) Drive Thru Options. After looking at the map, Council agrees there is no available option for a drive thru at this location due to it being on a ROW as well as the possibility of traffic backing up onto OLH. The previous two owners have also been denied.
DISCUSSION | Reversing Ordinance Ban on Chickens. Council agrees to not reverse the ban on chickens due to lack of ability to enforce the ordinance.
DISCUSSION | Schedule Comprehensive Improvement Plan Workshop. A workshop was tentatively scheduled for December 2nd at 5pm.
FYI | Crescent Collective Minutes. Clerk spoke for committee. They continue to work on pole application and banners.
Committee is hosting a Trunk or Treat/Bonfire Halloween night at the City Park.
FYI | Office closed: October 15th-17th for IMFOA Classes in Des Moines, October 30th Rural Summit Bus tour.
MAYOR’S REPORT | Working with MidAmerican on power lines to new lagoon system. Need approval from surrounding property owners. Working on PRV station. Working on a water flow solution at the water tower. Looking at possibly updating bathrooms in Community Hall. Clerk needs to order a new transducer. Maintenance to check on risers.
MAINTENANCE | Report submitted. Been spraying for weeds. Tubes for OLH & Florence are in. Waiting on other tubes. Dirt coming from County in a couple weeks. Mayor can provide a jackhammer attachment for removal of cinder block building.
PEOPLESERVICE | Report submitted. Mayor stated new people have been great to work with.
PARK BOARD | No Report. Discussion on items in storage shed. Discussion on keypad being installed at ball diamond. Discussion on ground hornets at volleyball sandpit. Exterminator has been there twice.
CVFD | 20 calls for September. 256 for this year.
PUBLIC FORUM | No Discussion.
